Giving Back – From Clutter to Care

At MinimaLisa, our mission goes beyond organizing spaces — we make sure the items our clients release find new homes where they can be truly useful.

One of the biggest barriers to decluttering is deciding what to do with items that still have value. Instead of throwing them away, many people hold on until their closets, cabinets, and drawers overflow. We remove that obstacle by rehoming our clients’ clutter to those who need it most.

Since 2023, we’ve partnered with a community garden in Queens, NY, to host a monthly giveaway. Neighbors can take what they need — from clothing & shoes, to books & household goods, all free of charge. Each year ends with our Holiday Gift Shoppe, where items are gift-wrapped, hot chocolate and sweets are shared, and children are thrilled by a visit from Santa Claus.

Beyond our own monthly giveaway, we also bring client donations to local community events across New York City. For our clients, knowing their items will help others provides peace of mind and eases the guilt of letting go. For the community, it’s a source of comfort and support.

We’re grateful to make this act of giving an essential part of our work.

What happens to the items I no longer want?
Clients are comforted knowing their unwanted items are rehomed or recycled rather than discarded. Each month, we partner with a local nonprofit and host a community giveaway at a neighborhood garden, ensuring your items find new homes.
